Heather Lynch, MA

A first-generation Canadian with West African origins and Jamaican heritage, Heather has deep roots in New Westminster, where she was born and raised on the traditional and unceded territory of the Qayqayt First Nation, part of the Coast Salish peoples. With over three decades of dedicated service in the not-for-profit sector, Heather has honed her expertise in leading compassionate care teams in the areas of clinical counselling, crisis intervention, and youth justice. Her prior experience includes working with the Provincial Government within the mental health sector.

 

A staunch advocate for social justice, Heather is committed to promoting equitable practices, cultivating healthy work cultures, and fostering inclusion for all. Her contributions to thought leadership in these areas are well-documented through numerous publications in news articles and magazines, where she passionately shares her views on the importance of belonging.

 

Heather’s academic achievements include an Associate of Arts Degree from Douglas College, a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Simon Fraser University, and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She also holds a certificate in Executive Leadership from the UBC Sauder School of Business.

 

As Heather steps into her role at our New Westminster office, she brings her journey full circle, serving in the very community where she was raised. Driven by a deep commitment to EFry’s mission, Heather is dedicated to advancing our goals of empowering and uplifting the women and children we serve.
