EFry Counselling Program provides no-cost, short-term, goal focused counselling for self-identifying women in BC to support their mental wellness. Our team of Clinical Counsellors and masters level counselling psychology practicum students provide up to 13 sessions of individual counselling. Counselling is offered virtually or by phone. Limited in-person counselling can be accessed in New Westminster. EFry Counselling supports people in addressing the following:
- Mild to moderate anxiety
- Depression and stress
- Coping skills
- Emotion regulation
- Healthy boundaries in relationships
- Mild substance use
- Life transitions and stressors
- Trauma
Our counsellors work with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. We have particular experience supporting newcomers to Canada, individuals with current or past involvement in the criminal or family justice systems, women-led households, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Our counselling is trauma-informed, culturally safe, affirming, and grounded in evidence based practice, ensuring care is responsive to each person’s unique needs.
Counselling is available in multiple languages, including Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and Malayalem.
People can be referred by a health care worker or support worker, or they can self-refer.
Please note that we cannot provide support for:
- Moderate to severe mental health concerns
- Moderate to severe substance use
- Couples counselling
- Family counselling
